Prior to the offical opening, The Resort Group hosted a glittering party on 24-27th October to celebrate the completion of Melia Dunas Beach Resortin Sal, Cape Verde. Hundreds of people, from investors to property agents to partners involved in the construction, enjoyed getting a first glimpse at the five-star, all-inclusive resort.
The Resort Group’s Chairman Rob Jarrett took to the stage at the official ceremony to speak about the development of Dunas Beach and its role in boosting tourism in Cape Verde. Guests also heard speeches from Jose Maria Neves, the Cape Verdean Prime Minister, Cecilio Gutiérrez,Meliá'sVice President Mediterranean Operations, and Jose Luis Cuevas who is theGeneral Manager ofMeliá Dunas Beach Resort & Spa.
During the ceremony, Rob Jarrett, Chairman at The Resort Group, said: “Dunas Beach is the biggest accomplishment we have made as a group and the pre-opening launch event gives us the opportunity to thank everyone for their hard work and determination. We are pleased to have been able to manufacture something as superb as Dunas Beach, and that we have given it to Cape Verde.
“Our partner Meliá has been instrumental throughout the development, ensuring the guest experience will be first class and the touristic flow can continue in this beautiful country. The Cape Verde government has been highly cooperative and, as a result, we have formed a fantastic working relationship with them. I would also like to thank TUI for driving touristic volume, as it is so important to the island. By working with the highest quality partners, we have been able to create beautifully designed properties for holidaymakers and those who are looking to find their perfect investment property.”
The ceremony was shortly followed by an unforgettable party, with guests seeing a colourful mix of entertainers perform on the beach. The line-up included headline acts Tinie Tempah, Miss Dynamite, Artful Dodger, Black Eyed Peas’ Apl.de.Ap, Britain’s Got Talent’s violinist Lettice Rowbotham and a cappella group The Magnets. A host of celebrities attended the launch too. Kerry Katona and Danielle Lloyd were just a few that hung out with the guests.
Dunas Beach is now ready to welcome the first holidaymakers to the resort from 1st November.
